Saucy Dog's new song "poi" is chosen as the opening theme for NHK's anime "Karasu ha Lord wo Sukenai"!
Saucy Dog's new song "poi" has been chosen as the opening theme for the anime "Karasu ha Lord wo Sukenai" to be broadcast on NHK Sogo from April!
This is the first time that Saucy Dog has written music for a TV anime series, and some of the music from "poi" is used in the trailer for the anime, so you can be one of the first to hear the soundtrack.
Karasu wa shihonai" is a popular fantasy novel by Chisato Abe in the "Yatagarasu" series. It is a Japanese-style epic fantasy set in Yamauchi, a different world ruled by a clan of yatagarasu (three-legged crow) that take the form of humans. The theme song was realized after the anime offered to write it.
Shinya Ishihara (Vo, Gt) commented on the thoughts behind the song as follows
Without a clear goal, time just ticks by mercilessly.
We humans, who are so frustrated and saddened by our sloppy selves and the cruelty of daily life, may be making up for it by hurting a complete stranger, as if to cover our sorrows.
I guess anxious days with no foreseeable future can make people so lost and crazy.
But it is neither abnormal nor heartless, and only by doing so can we gain light.
I also want to be a light for such people.
