iri's new song "Swamp" has been chosen as the theme song for the drama "Sky Castle".

The drama "Sky Castle" is a "shocker" that is sure to make you fall into the swamp, depicting a battle between beautiful celebrity wives who, despite their elegant appearance, have burning ambitions, fierce vanity and pride, and "secrets" that they can't tell anyone. The film brings together a cast of five gorgeous women, including Nao Matsushita, Fumino Kimura, Ai Higa, Mary Jun Takahashi, and Koyuki, who star in the film! The "unpredictable, ghastly, and sordid suspense mystery" finally opened today, July 25 (Thursday), with a "mysterious accident" triggering a series of supremely thrilling and rapid developments.
This is the first time that iri has sung the theme song for a terrestrial TV drama.

Swamp" is a song written by iri for this tie-up after watching the original story, and was produced in collaboration with ESME MORI, the sound producer of "Wonderland," one of iri's best-known songs. The title was chosen with the hope that the audience will be "swamped" by the song and the world of the drama.
The song, with an impressive intro of strings and distortion guitar, is a new and innovative sound production challenge for iri, and was released as a surprise at the end of the first episode of the drama that just aired.

This was my first experience writing for a TV drama. Since it was a suspense drama, I had to go through a lot of trial and error to find a way to express the tension and the sordid human drama from my own drawings. The guitar phrase that came to mind was a reminder of the bottomless energy that goes into protecting the things and people we love while being driven mad by our desires. I wrote a song about the determination to choose one's own life while accepting distorted love or sometimes letting go of it and struggling with it.
We hope you will enjoy it along with the drama.
