Two unique masterpieces will be released in analog form for the first time! Aki Yashiro and the Wonderful Gentlemen's Concert LIVE IN QUEST" and "MOOD" to be released simultaneously on November 3, Record Day
Two unique masterpieces by Aki Yashiro will be released in analog form for the first time on Record Day (November 3). Both albums are ambitious works that incorporate jazz, R&B, hip hop, and other styles, and are masterpieces that can be considered the essence of the vocalist Aki Yashiro.
Aki Yashiro, who was loved by many as the "Queen of Enka," made great contributions to the Japanese enka and song world, but she also actively worked on genres other than enka, such as jazz and blues, as if reexamining her own roots in night clubs. Her jazz album "Night Album" produced by Koyo Konishi and released in 2012, and her blues album "Aika" produced by Yobito Teraoka and released in 2015, attracted a great deal of attention.
Aki Yashiro and the Lovely Gentlemen's Concert LIVE IN QUEST" was released in 1998 and is a record of Aki Yashiro's first live jazz concert. The album features Aki Yashiro singing jazz standards and representative songs such as "Funauta," "Ame no Moyo," and "Ai no Jijo Eki (Love's Last Stop)," accompanied by legends of the Japanese jazz world such as Hide Kitamura (clarinet), Joe Sera (piano), George Kawaguchi (drums), and Takashi Mizuhashi (bass), and her own band 846, swinging lightly and singing along with the music. This work can be said to be the start of "Yatsushiro Jazz. MOOD" was released in 2001 and is a unique work in her career, featuring arrangements of "Funauta" and "Fly Me To The Moon" that incorporate elements of R&B, Jazz, and Hip Hop, in addition to songs written by Yoshitaka Minami, Taeko Onuki, and Toshiyuki Osawa. It is a masterpiece that should be listened to now, highlighting Aki Yashiro's soulful and delicate voice and the depth of her interpretation of the songs.
