Singer-songwriter NakamuraEmi released for distribution today the music video for "MICHIKUSA," the official city promotion song of Atsugi City, which celebrates its 70th anniversary as a city on February 1 this year.
The song "MICHIKUSA" was produced in response to an offer to Nakamura Emi, a native and current resident of Atsugi City, for the production of a PR video for Atsugi City, and is a lyrical piece with a message from her real life in Atsugi, where she spent her childhood, and a relaxed and free flow that is comfortable to listen to. A photo of herself in her childhood is used as the jacket of the song.
The music video "MICHIKUSA" is made up of photos taken on a certain day in January at various locations in Atsugi City, as well as photos from her childhood. The content of the album tells the story of how singer-songwriter Nakamura Emi was born. The video is a must-see, reminding everyone of their childhood and naturally appealing to all five senses. <NakamuraEmi comment
If I had lived in a different place, I am sure the music and lyrics I would create would be completely different. I believe that the music I have created because I have lived in Atsugi has become the most unique part of who I am today.
As an adult, I realized that the flowers and insects I took for granted on my way to and from school and the days spent playing with friends, as well as feeling the changing nature in some way every day, enriched my sensitivity more than I had imagined. I also realize that it is because I live in a place like Atsugi, where there is so much nature, that my mind and body can relax and I can do my best at work.
I wrote this song in the hope that today's children, in a place like Atsugi, where there is nature, will see, touch, and try various things, sometimes making mistakes, and realize that these things will be treasures decades from now.
I hope to convey to not only people like me who have lived in Atsugi for a long time, but also to people who live in other areas of Japan, "I wonder what Atsugi is like..." "Would you like to try living here...? I hope to convey the possibility that Atsugi has the potential to realize what each person wants to do.
