Singer-songwriter Uru's new song "Letter" will be the theme song for the movie "Yukikaze YUKIKAZE" to be released on Friday, August 15, and will be released as a digital single on August 13.

The film "Yukikaze" is based on the historical fact of the ship "Yukikaze", which continued to save many friends during the Pacific War, and depicts on a grand scale the people who worked hard to survive and their fate against the backdrop of the turbulent times that led from the vortex to the postwar period and on to the present day.
Yutaka Takenouchi as Kazutoshi Terasawa, captain of the main character "Yukikaze"; Hiroshi Tamaki as Kohei Hayase, the senior corporal; Daikane Okudaira as Sota Inoue, a young miner; and other crew members who face the fire of war. The film also features a cast of Japan's leading actors, including Ami Toma as Sachi, Hayase's sister; Rena Tanaka as Shizu, Terasawa's wife; Toru Masuoka as Yoshio Kuzuhara, Shizu's father; Kanji Ishimaru as Toshiyuki Furusho, Chief of Operations, Imperial Navy War Command; and Kiichi Nakai as Seiichi Ito, Commander-in-Chief of the Second Fleet, which actually happened.

The theme song, "Letter," was written by Uru for this film with lyrics and music by Uru.
Arranged by Takeshi Kobayashi, who has also worked with Uru on her hit songs such as "You Are Here" and "If You Call It Love," the song is a tearful ballad that can be called the quintessential Uru song.
Regarding the "letter," Uru said, "I wrote this song while expressing my gratitude to those who lived in the distant past and connected our time to the present, and thinking about my own family and experiences.".I hope this song will be able to accompany this work, which made me want to live my ordinary days more carefully and cherish them.He commented.

A special trailer for the film released today on YouTube offers a sample of the theme song. Although the full story has not yet been revealed, the special trailer overlays the appeal of the film "Yukikaze YUKIKAZE" as a human drama based on historical facts.
