In 2016, a video posted on YouTube in the United Kingdom moved the world.
Father and son singing happily in the car on a road trip. The father, Ted McDermott, who sits in the passenger seat and sings with great elongation and vocal ability, suffers from Alzheimer's disease. This video has been viewed more than 60 million times and has given hope and inspiration to families around the world who are in the same situation. It also inspired his father Ted to make his CD debut at the age of 80, making him the oldest new singer in the UK. Based on this miraculous true story, "The Never-Ending Song of My Father and Me" is set in Japan and portrays a father and son living in Yokosuka, depicting their respective loves and struggles, and how, with the support of family and friends, the father with Alzheimer's disease tries to fulfill his dream of making a record debut again, which he gave up on in his youth. The film opens in theaters on May 23 (Fri.)!

Directed by Norihiro Koizumi, who has created numerous moving works such as "Song of the Taiyou" and the "Chihayafuru" series. The father, Tetta Mamiya, who loves music and humor and runs a music store in Yokosuka, where he was born and raised, is played by Akira Terao, who plays the leading role in a movie for the first time in 16 years since "The Wandering Blade" (2009), and continues to be at the forefront as an actor and musician even at the age of 77. His son Yuta Mamiya, who continues to support his father, is played by Tori Matsuzaka. He passionately plays the role of a son who is shaken by anxiety and yet remains close to his sick father, with a solid acting ability that combines naïveté and tenderness.

In the special video released this time, Akira Terao plays Tetta Mamiya, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and is losing his memory; Tori Matsuzaka plays Yuta, the son who continues to support his father; and Keiko Matsuzaka plays Ritsuko, the mother who is strong and kind. The three, who played the role of the family as the "Mamiya family," talked about the film in a friendly manner.
To play the role of Tetsuta, in addition to his acting ability, he must be able to sing convincingly. Terao was offered the role of Tetsuta's father because he could think of no one else. He said, "I mean, first of all, who can I work with, and then we'll go from there. He cut out, "I'm going to be working with these two (Tori Matsuzaka and Keiko Matsuzaka).I'm open to any role!He told the audience that he gladly accepted the offer. Keiko Matsuzaka said, "I'm a fidgety person, so this time it was fun to play catch with my profoundly deep husband and my son who quietly thinks about things! He said, "I'm not sure I can do it. In contrast, Tori Matsuzaka said, "I was a little nervous, but once I got there, I realized that Yuta is my son because of his mother and father, and that made me feel happy. He said he felt the warmth of the two on the set. He also said that he felt the warmth of the parent-child relationship in the video, which was the basis for the film, and felt the significance of releasing the film in Japan. He said, "I felt the warmth of the two people on the set.I am fortunate to have a family of my own, and when I think about the future, I realize that I am not a stranger to the world. I want to build up a warm family, which is not the same as love for family. He also talks about what he felt over and over again about himself after appearing in this film. The interview concluded with the statement, "Isn't it great? This familyTerao's words, "I'm very happy to be here," and the three smiling faces closed the session.
