BABYMETAL became the first Japanese artist in history to perform at London's O2 Arena to a sold-out crowd of 20,000! BABYMETAL performs solo show at London's O2 Arena to a sold-out crowd of approximately 20,000 people! Solo show at INTUIT DOME in Los Angeles was also announced!
BABYMETAL, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, completed a SOLD OUT solo performance at the O2 Arena in London, England, on Friday, May 30, the first ever by a Japanese group. The O2 Arena, which holds approximately 20,000 people, is a venue where legendary artists such as Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Prince, Metallica, and Billy Irish have performed. BABYMETAL was the first Japanese group to hold a solo show at London's Wembley Arena in April 2016, followed by X JAPAN, ONE OK ROCK, YOASOBI, and others.
Many fans wearing BABYMETAL T-shirts and cosplayers crowded around the venue even before the show began, and there were long lines at the merchandise stands. Most of them were rock fans living in the U.K., a scene that is only possible with BABYMETAL's overseas popularity. Incidentally, BABYMETAL has many enthusiastic fans overseas, as evidenced by the fact that they broke the record for No. 1 merchandise sales at the Wembley Arena venue in April 2016. It should be added that live viewing and delay viewing of this memorable performance will be held at movie theaters across Japan and Asia for fans in Japan and Asia, with real-time screenings starting early in the morning, and will be broadcast on WOWOW at a later date.
After Bambie Thug and Poppy, who had accompanied BABYMETAL as support acts for their UK&EU arena tour that started on May 10, finished the stage, the fans who had been waiting for the show to start started to call out "BABYMETAL! As the excitement was building, the lights went down and BABYMETAL's customary picture-story show-like story movie began.
With the message, "Beyond Metal," the BABYMETAL logo was formed from pieces of glass that resembled the jacket design of "METAL FORTH," the band's fourth new album, and the curtain finally opened with "BABYMETAL DEATH!

The stage set-up in its entirety consisted of a diamond-shaped main stage similar to the jacket design of the new album "METAL FORTH," a sub-stage at the center of the venue a short distance away, and a flower path connecting the two.
The main stage started to move as if floating on a huge LED screen showing the entire audience, and the flames that rose with a size and volume that was out of the norm for an overseas arena concert were truly appropriate for the beginning of the "ritual. The fans in the venue joined together in chants of "DEATH! DEATH!" and circle moshes broke out all over the arena floor.
After dropping a series of signature songs such as "Megitsune" and "PA PA YA!!!! (feat. F.HERO)," followed by the blue trap metal "BxMxC. The earth-shaking bass sound hit the audience from the bottom of the floor, knocking them out from the beginning with its out-of-this-world sound.

Already a well-known live staple, "Metari! (feat. Tom Morello)," the band members appeared from a sub-stage away from the main stage, encouraging the audience on the floor to crouch down and reach the main stage. The highlight of the day came early as the floor jumped in unison to the call of "Are you ready?
The next is a new song, "Kon! Kon! (feat. Bloodywood)," featuring the Indian metalcore band Bloodywood, which is known as "Bollywood metal," with a lyrical theme of a fox "yokai" and an arrangement that incorporates ethnic instruments. The song, featuring the Indian metalcore band Bloodywood, which has been described as "Bollywood metal," is a fusion of lyrics based on the theme of fox "yokai," vocal melodies that evoke elements of "harmony," grooves based on Indian folk music, and arrangements that incorporate ethnic instruments. The dance incorporating Bollywood dance and the audience's shouts were repeated, and the audience felt as if they were transported to another world.

When the new song "Sunset Kiss (feat. Polyphia)" was performed for the first time, the main stage floated up again and the members of BABYMETAL were absorbed into the geometric space projected on the huge LED screen. The scenery was a complete change from the previous song, and seemed to illustrate the wide variety of songs from the new album "METAL FORTH".
When the storyboard-style story movie started with the count of "1, 2, 3! The audience screamed in unison as if they had been waiting for the show. The song's "Beauty and the Beast" toxicity was pervasive and chaotic as SU-METAL's roof-piercing high tone voice echoed through the air and Alex's diabolical growl folded in.

Gah! A yellow cheer went up especially loudly. The song was especially popular among female fans. This song, especially popular with female fans, was surely the symbol of the 15th anniversary year of the band.
Fu!" and a four-strike dance beat started to play, the audience instantly went into a party mode.
In a performance unique to the O2 Arena, where sports games are usually held, the camera caught fans in the audience doing dance moves and projected them on the screen, prompting the fans to show off their dance moves. The audience's excitement was quickly heightened by the viral success of the song, and they were enveloped in a happy aura.

The momentum continued into "Gimichoco! The voltage reached its maximum. The finale featured a waterfall-like fireworks display, a special performance unique to overseas arena shows.
After an interval of incessant "BABYMETAL" calls, a huge monster appeared on the screen. The members appeared from the sub stage to a particularly loud cheer, and as a surprise, Poppy, a feat. artist, appeared on the main stage! When "from me to u (feat. Poppy)" started in full body, a tower of Co2 smoke erupted and the floor was immediately filled with a storm of moshing. The next song, "KARATE," was a fantastic sight as the audience's smartphone lights enveloped the members dancing on the sub-stage in the center of the venue, a moment that brought the audience together as one.

Then, "WALL OF DEATH" was announced with a story movie in the style of a picture-story show, and "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" started as a pleasant surprise as well. WALL OF DEATH was generated on the floor. This sight alone was enough to make one's heart pound.
BABYMETAL appeared on stage holding up the flag to the sound of "Road of Resistance," and SU-METAL took charge of the floor as the final battle began. The audience responded to BABYMETAL's performance as if they were going into battle, shaking their fists and shouting, a whirling circle mosh, and a chorus of "WOW WOW" from the audience in the middle of the show, The ending of the show with the call and response of "We are!" and "BABYMETAL!" was truly a scene that symbolized the brave men and women who had fought through the first major battle in the history of Japanese artists at the O2 Arena.
SU-METAL thanked the UK, their second home, and amidst thunderous applause and cheers, the next preview of the show, a storyboard-style movie, played. Rob Halford (Judas Priest), a METAL GOD from the UK, the holy land of metal where the O2 Arena is located, gave a special message of encouragement to BABYMETAL as a surprise. BABYMETAL will be performing at the INTUIT DOME in Los Angeles, U.S.A., for the first time ever by a Japanese artist, as the second special arena show following the O2 Arena. BABYMETAL's future activities are sure to be a focus of attention.
