Multi-Unit Apartment," an original work by Kaoru Miura, will open on August 1. This is an original work written, composed, and directed by Miura, in which eight women gather at Multi-Unit Apartment, a share house in Little Lovely Town, a little off the beaten path from the celebrity town ......, where everyone dreams of living. They disguise themselves as beautiful men and seek revenge. The eight women are played by eight actors, including Tsubasa Kizu and Yusei Mochida. The ladies engage in lively girl talk as they struggle with their problems in a lively and life-size way. We asked Kizu and Mochida about the film.

Kizu, I know we're polar opposites, but can you play a role like this?"

─ This is the first time you two have performed together on stage.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I had heard her name mentioned in various places and had the impression that she was a hardworking girl. When I actually met her, I found that she was energetic, hardworking, and at the same time, she was able to take care of her "juniors" properly. I thought she was polite and wonderful.

I had the opportunity to talk with him before we started working together, and I told him that he was the person I wanted to work with the most. ─ By the way, what was the work that made you want to work together?

─ I understand that you have started rehearsals, but have your impressions of the play and of me as an actor changed in any way after working together?

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I've only had the chance to rehearse with him a few times, but even at ......, Bibi (played by Mochida) is an honest girl who can't tell a lie, just like Mochida. Because she is so honest, sometimes Mochida's one-liners can make me think twice.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　No, no. It was Bibi's line! It's like Bibi said it without paying attention to anything, and it's so precise, and then everyone realizes, "Oh," when they get it.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　Oh yeah. She is insensitive, isn't she? That's what makes Bibi so cute. It's "obtuse and cute.

He had just joined the rehearsals halfway through, so he didn't know what he was doing, but he had a broad perspective and was able to move while keeping an eye on those around him and paying attention to them. It is amazing that he scored 100 points even though he didn't know what he was doing.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　Mochida is the only one who thinks so. I think everyone else is wondering if I'm doing okay (laughs).

─ It is hard to believe that this is the first time you two have worked together and that you have only rehearsed together a few times.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I basically don't push back either, and if the relationship has a positive impact on the play, I think it's even better to do so. Especially this time, it is girl talk. I think that if we talk and laugh with each other in private, it will naturally lead to a "giggle" when we are talking on the board.

Multi-Unit Apartment" is the ultimate in girl talk.

Multi-Unit Apartment" is the story of "eight heartbroken women who disguise themselves as beautiful men" and perform a revenge show. What was your impression when you first heard about the film?

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I thought it would be difficult. I thought that a work with this kind of taste was something that did not seem to exist. But when we were rehearsing the opening, I thought, "The audience will be very excited. I think it will be a very enjoyable piece. It's like the final form of girl talk.

rice field in which a rice paddy is grown　I simply thought, "This is the start of something great. It's definitely going to be fun. In fact, actors around me said, "That looks interesting," and "I want to do that, too. I was happy that I could be a part of it.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I heard that this is a work that Kaoru-san (Kaoru Miura, who writes the script, lyrics, and directs the play) had always wanted to do. So, of course I want the audience to enjoy it, but most of all I want Ms. Kaoru to enjoy it. I feel in the rehearsal room, "If I make this person laugh, it will be the right thing to do.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I genuinely wanted to do this project, and I entrusted my thoughts to the actors who gathered there. When I think about it, I really feel that it is our mission to create works that Shang-san enjoys.

─ What do you think of the characters you play, Coco for Kizu and Bibi for Mochida, and how do you plan to play them?

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　Coco is difficult. I am the type of person who goes for it, but Coco is the type who gets involved.

─ ─ It is true that Kizu-san has not been a "main character who gets involved" in many of his works.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　I've always been a "run-and-run" type of protagonist. So this time Coco is a bit of a challenge for me. I myself am an independent person, so I thought it would be interesting to see a moment of independence from time to time while being involved in the story. Also, there are eight women in the film, so if I leave things alone, I will end up being in conflict with other characters in some way. Moreover, since I joined the film late, there were no open seats for me (laughs). (Laughs.) In fact, Coco even asked me, "Are there any more unique people coming up? Coco would ask, "Are there any more unique people in the group? So I am wondering what I should do. I think Coco is a girl who is disturbed, but she likes to have fun and adapts to the mood of the moment, so I hope to take that into account when creating Coco.

─ I heard that it is a show stage, but could you tell me a little about the songs and choreography?

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　It's cool! It's choreographed by REX, which is the company that Hanna's character, Kohki, belongs to. I respect ...... because he also performs as an actor and choreographs.

─ You sing and dance as a woman.

As Kohki mentioned, the theme of the choreography this time is "women are cool. The choreography shows that "we are cool, aren't we? Yesterday, when we were practicing, I said to him, "Look, you are so cool," "Give me more coolness! He said, "Come on, you're so cool! It was a lively rehearsal.

I want to show how interesting it is because it is played by Japanese boys.

─ ─ What did you refer to in playing a woman and in singing and dancing as a woman?

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　Shang told me "Beverly Hills High School White Paper". I also watched "The Devil Wears Prada. Coco is a girl who comes from the countryside to the city with longing, so I thought it would be close. Well, there weren't such fancy people in the movie (laughs).

rice field in which a rice paddy is grown　I played the role of Bibi as a cheerleader, so I watched videos of cheerleaders overseas. I wanted to learn how to show off my body. It's difficult because the way they build their bodies is different, but I use it as a reference.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　However, ...... after all, it is a Japanese boy who is playing the role. I think it would be good if we could take advantage of that interesting gap. I think it would be interesting to perform this play on Broadway, but it would be really cool if we could say, "We're going to do this in Japan! I think it would be really cool if we could do it in Japan. That's part of the fun of it.

─ ─ It is only meaningful for a Japanese man to play the role of a Japanese man.

To be honest, at first I was worried that I would look like a man dressed as a woman. We had been performing as men for so long. But when we actually did it, it was not like that at all.

Kizu era (1141.7.10-1142.4.28)　Yup! So I hope you come to see the show just to have fun. I think people get tired if they are just going about their daily lives, working, or going to school. So if you come to see the show with the mindset of "let's go for a 2-hour walk," I think you will feel like you had a lot of fun after the show.
