In 2023, the band will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its formation and the 20th anniversary of its major label debut, as well as its third sold-out Budokan concert.
今年バンド結成27周年を迎え、今もなお挑戦と進化を続けるストレイテナー。昨年10月リリースのアルバム「The Ordinary Road」以来、1年ぶりのCDリリースとなるEP「Next Chapter EP」を10月29日(水)に発売することが先日発表された。

そのEP発売に先立ち、先月8月27日に表題となる新曲「Next Chapter」が先行配信され、ファンからの反応も上々な中、EPに収録される別の新曲「メタセコイアと月」が来週9月24日に先行配信されることが決定した。同時に、配信用のジャケット写真も公開となった。
「メタセコイアと月」は、シューゲイズなサウンドアプローチが新鮮かつ刺激的な作品。ギターの壁の中で浮かび上がる、ストレイテナーの本領発揮とも言うべき、はかないメロディーが、美しさを際立たせ、聴くものを捉えて離さない楽曲になっている。
また、ジャケットはメンバーたっての希望で、イラストレーターの篠崎理一郎氏にオファー。
月とメタセコイアが象徴的に描かれ、繊細かつ想像力を掻き立てる印象的なジャケットに仕上がっている。

In November and December, a one-man hall live concert "Sad And Beautiful Symphony" will be held in Tokyo and Osaka.
On November 22 (Sat) at NHK Osaka Hall for the first time in 9 years, and on December 9 (Tue) and 10 (Wed) at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA for the first time in 5 years.
