★EMOT10N - 10th Anniversary Mini Documentary Video
In August 2025, Carly Rae Jepsen will celebrate the 10th anniversary of her smash hit "Emotion" by once again standing in the same spot where she celebrated the album's release 10 years ago, at the Troubadour, a renowned live music venue in Los Angeles, CA. A new mini-documentary, "EMOT10N," produced by Sunflower Pictures, commemorates this milestone moment and tells the story behind the album and its relationship to the venue, as well as spotlighting the fans whose lives have been changed by Carly's music.
The album "Emotion" was released shortly after her big breakthrough with the No. 1 single "Call Me Maybe" and the follow-up hit "Good Time," and was a symbol of Carly's transformation. Rather than rushing to release a new album, Carly at the time took her time to develop a vision for her next project, which was materialized by a number of collaborators. In the video, Carly recalls, "I was looking for something that I hadn't quite grasped yet, something that only I could express in pop music."
As a result, a large number of people strongly identified with this work. The finished album was a modern update of the 1980s pop sound and had great appeal. Carly received widespread critical acclaim and an enthusiastic response from her growing fan base. The extent of this support was demonstrated at the album's release show, where fans chanted every word of the lyrics in unison.
Enthusiastic fans once again flooded the Troubadour this summer to fight for tickets to the 10th anniversary show set for the Troubadour. The Troubadour has a capacity of only 500 people. By the time the tickets were sold out, a whopping 110,000 people were in line and were denied entry. Those who were able to enter were able to enjoy the entire album, plus bonus tracks such as "Cut To The Feeling," a single from the "Emotion" era, and were the first to learn about the deluxe 10th anniversary reissue of the album.
Emotion (10th Anniversary Edition)" includes the original hit singles "I Really Like You," "Run Away With Me," and "Your Type," as well as previously unreleased tracks "More," "Guardian Angel," "Back Of My Heart," "Lost In Devotion," and two remixes of "Run Away With Me. Guardian Angel", "Back Of My Heart", "Lost In Devotion", and two remixes of "Run Away With Me".
