Scaparral's series of performances with a full orchestra, which began with the 35th anniversary of their debut, will tour in three cities (Hyogo, Yamagata, and Tokyo) in May 2026!
Billboard Japan (Hanshin Contents Link Co., Ltd.) has decided to hold "Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra billboard classics Symphonic Tour 2026".
This tour is a series of performances with a full orchestra that first took place in 2024 at the Kawaguchiko Stella Theater as part of the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra's 35th anniversary project, which was met with a great response. In 2025, an encore performance was held at NHK Hall, and this year's tour, the third in the series, will be scaled up to three cities (Hyogo, Yamagata, and Tokyo).
With Takayuki Hattori as music supervisor, conductor, and arranger, this series brings together Ska Parra, which evolved from the Jamaican "ska" and pursues its own unique musical style, and a full orchestra, a completely different musical ensemble, in a head-to-head encounter. This series has been highly acclaimed by both ska and classical music fans for its bold attempt to maximize the individuality and energy of both musicians while lightly jumping over the boundaries of genres.
In past performances, Yoshie Nakano (EGO-WRAPPIN') and Hanaregumi appeared as guests with overwhelming presence. They performed "Vertical Rain feat. Yoshie Nakano" and "Reminiscence of Lilac feat. Hanaregumi," respectively, enveloping the audience in a whirlpool of deep emotion. In addition, the series' thrilling interplay between the superb skills of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Sukapara is a major attraction of this series, which weaves in and out of famous classical phrases such as "Pictures at an Exhibition" and "Sword Dance.
In May 2026, the curtain will rise on a one-of-a-kind stage where the passion and excitement of the orchestra's magnificent, flowing sound intersect with the bottomless, bright beats of ska music.
The tour will feature appearances by prestigious orchestras from around the country, including the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Guests are also scheduled to participate, details of which will be announced at a later date.
