On February 16, 2024, the previously unreleased "We Got To Change," recorded in 1970, was distributed in conjunction with a new James Brown documentary, James Brown: Say it Loud, which aired in North America.
In addition to the title track "We Got To Change," a total of three tracks, "We Got To Change (Extended Version)" and "We Got To Change (Pixal Remix)" are available as the "We Got To Change EP.

The unreleased song "We Got To Change" was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami on August 16, 1970, a pivotal time for the 37-year-old James Brown.
James Brown formed a new group with two young brothers from Cincinnati, guitarist Phelps "Catfish" Collins and bassist William "Bootsy" Collins. guitarist Phelps "Catfish" Collins and bassist William "Bootsy" Collins. They brought a hard edge and fresh identity to James Brown's music with singles such as "Get Up (I Feel Like Being) a Sex Machine," "Super Bad," and "Soul Power. James Brown called them the JBs.
The Criteria Studios session on August 16, 1970 reunited James Brown with his 1960s sidemen, the great drummer Clyde Stubblefield. Known for his funky drumming, he graced several of James Brown's later hits and became one of the most sampled drummers of the hip-hop era. The song also features James Brown's longtime right-hand man, Bobby Byrd, on the chorus.
