Seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer Kacey Musgraves releases her latest album, "Deeper Well," which includes the song "Anime Eyes" inspired by famous Japanese anime films.
Seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves released her fifth studio album, "Deeper Well," on Friday, March 15.

Recorded mostly at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City, the album was co-produced by Kacey Musgraves herself and Daniel Tassian and Ian Fichuk, who have worked together for many years. While her previous album, star-crossed, featured Kacey singing about specific relationships, her new album, Deeper Well, is her own observation of the various relationships that occur throughout life.
Along with the release, the music video for "Too Good to be True," which was previously released as the second single, was also released. Casey said of the song, "It's a song about the beginning of a relationship, and it's about what I went through. Once you've been in a great relationship and there's a change of heart in the relationship and it comes to an end, you're afraid to open your heart to someone else again. I don't want to get hurt again. But after going through a divorce and writing an album of my feelings about that time, I had the opportunity to have another great love affair. I am so lucky to experience a few great loves in my life. And every time I learn something from it. This song is about "This guy seems really nice. I hope I won't regret opening my heart to someone again.
In addition to "Too Good to be True" and the first single "Deeper Well," the album includes "Anime Eyes," a song inspired by the works of Hayao Miyazaki. Casey, who professes to be a big fan of Studio Ghibli's works, also sings the lyrics "Miyazaki sky" on the song, and comments on the influence of Hayao Miyazaki's works as follows
I feel that Studio Ghibli's work has margins of beauty and mystery." They don't explain everything. But the world depicted is really beautiful, like a painting, and it draws you in. I love Hayao Miyazaki's works so much because I think he uses pictures to express trivial human emotions and sentiments that are difficult to express in words. The music in Hayao Miyazaki's films is also wonderful, and I love the music that Joe Hisaishi makes.
Casey, who has visited Japan many times in the past and is a big fan of Japan, sent the following message to his Japanese fans upon the release of this album. I love you all so much. I am really looking forward to going back to Japan. I am always looking for an excuse to go back to Japan again soon. I am the person I am today because of everyone's support. The next time I go to Japan, I want to bring something special for everyone and I look forward to seeing you then. I love you!"
