Wednesday no Campanella held a release event of new EP "POP DELIVERY" in Ikebukuro, Tokyo!
Wednesday's Campanella, who released their 3rd EP "POP DELIVERY" on June 5 (Wed.), held an event at Ikebukuro Sunshine City to celebrate the EP release.
Wednesday's Campanella has just held its first Nippon Budokan concert in March this year, a great success, with Shiba as the second generation singer. The title of this EP, "POP DELIVERY," means delivering the POP of Wednesday's Campanella, delivering POP things that Shiba thinks are cute, and we have planned an autograph session at this place where they can perform at close range with the audience and also with their fans. The event will be held at the same location as the event itself.
The first song of the live concert started with "Shotoku Taishi," which is also included on the EP and was the first Japanese film to be entered in the music video category at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, and was released digitally last October.
The music video for "Shotoku Taishi" also features dancers dressed as Shiba, and four dancers will join her again this year to add color to the stage.
It is said that Prince Shotoku could hear many voices at once. The song is a fictitious story of what would happen if Prince Shotoku opened a consultation room, and Kenmochi Hidefumi's humorous lyrics are a must-see.
Then they continued with "Buckingham," a song from their first EP "Neon. The floor was getting warmer and warmer as the fans clapped their hands in unison, as they are wont to do.
It's totally different from the environment in which we usually perform live (laughs). (Laughter) "Isn't this zero-distance from the audience too much? (Laughs).
Then, about 20 dancers were invited to perform "Tamamonomae".
The song is also memorable as the theme song for the Amazon Original drama "My Lovely Specter Girlfriend. The gathered fans enjoyed the "Konko Kon Dance" in which they danced with fox fingers in unison.
The main performance of the day was a new song, "Akaneko" (Red Cat). Akaneko" is the theme song for the TBS TV anime "Ramen Akaneko," and the character "Bunzo" from "Ramen Akaneko" made an appearance!
Loud cheers and claps rang out.
The collaboration between "Bunzo-san" and Shiba was POP, and was the most exciting part of the event.
During "Mermaid," which is included on this EP and is also Wednesday's Campanella's summer song, some fans waved their towels around and raised their hands in the air in excitement.
They also performed "Edison," which has become one of their signature songs. The chorus, "♪Dancing Edison, self-respect," had many of the children doing the customary choreography together.
Finally, the "beckoning cat" was performed, and the usual "beckoning cat balloon" appeared.
The 30-minute live performance of seven songs was about to end when the "Ramen Red Cat" character "Bunzo-san" appeared on stage again!
Shiba is sandwiched between "Bunzo-san" and "Manekineko (beckoning cat). The event ended with a lot of applause for the cute stage direction.
The third EP, "POP DELIVERY," contains eight songs of Kenmochi Hidefumi's superb POP music.
All eight songs are worth listening to, so we hope you will enjoy them. The TV anime "Ramen Red Cat" will begin airing on TBS on July 4 (Thu.).
Starting in Hokkaido-Zepp Sapporo, the tour with "POP DELIVERY" will begin on July 3 (Wed.). Tickets are now on sale, so check it out!
