Uru New song "Filament" will be the theme song for the movie "When I cry because it's delicious" to be released in April! It will be released as a digital SG on April 4! A trailer featuring the song will also be released!
Singer-songwriter Uru's new song "Filament" has been chosen as the theme song for the movie "When I Cry Because It's Delicious," which opens in theaters on April 4, and will be released as a digital single on April 4, the same day the movie opens.
The film "When I Cry Because I'm Tasteful" is based on the novel "When I Cry Because I'm Tasteful" by popular writer Akio Morisawa, which touched the hearts of many readers with its straightforward depiction of "the kindness that genuinely cares for others". Hatsuki Yokoo, who also directed the film adaptation of Morisawa's book, "The Important Thing Whispering in a Whisper," directs this film as well.
The main character, Shinya, is played by Kento Nagao, a member of "Naniwa Danshi" who has many fans in Japan and abroad. Nagao, who is also making great strides as an actor, makes his first starring role in a feature film with this film. The heroine, Yuka, is played by Ami Toma, who has been remarkably active, having voiced the main character in the animated film "Kagami no Kojo (The Lonely Castle of Kagami)," and was selected as the image character for the 14th generation of "Calpis Water" commercials. These two fresh, young actors with a strong sense of "now" weave a sad, once-in-a-lifetime love story.
This will be her second theme song for an Akio Morisawa film, after her debut song "Hoshi no Naka no Kimi" was the theme song for the film "Natsumi no Hotaru".
The song "Filament" was written and composed by Uru and arranged by KOHD.
On the thought that went into the song, Uru said, "I felt the dignified strength and thick core of all the characters in this work, and I wrote the song as it is. I sang the song "Filament" with the thought that even if I feel like I am about to lose my way in the midst of suffering and sadness, I want to keep a small light on. I hope this song will resonate in your hearts as well as in this work, which makes you feel the warmth of people, the strength to be strong by thinking of someone else, and the strength and courage to hold on to your dreams and hopes."I'm very happy to hear it," he commented. On the film's official website, director Yokoo, original author Akio Morisawa, and lead actor Kento Nagao also commented on the song, so be sure to check it out as well.
Uru released the single "Ambivalent", the opening theme song for the TV anime "Yakuya no Hitorigoto" last February, and in May, she sang the new commercial song for the Japanese Red Cross Society with her new song "Yoru ga Akeru Tame", making this her first song release in about one year and two months since "Ambivalent".
Today, the trailer for the movie "When I Cry Because I'm Tasteful," which uses part of the song "Filament," was also released, and the song that plays along with the movie's story is a tear-jerking video that is sure to draw attention for its synergistic effect in the film.

◆Director Hatsuki Yokoo comments
Uru's gentle yet core voice seemed to reflect the hearts of Shinya and Yuka, and when I heard it for the first time, I was shaken to my core.
Thank you so much for writing this down.
We hope that this song, along with the movie, will reach the hearts of many people.
Comments by Akio Morisawa, author of the book
When I heard "Filament" for the first time, the sad yet tender sentiments of Shinya and Yuka touched my heart so deeply that I couldn't help but be moved. It sounds like a "cheering song" that helps those who are heartbroken but desperately looking to the future.
◆Uru Comments
What is happening is hard and painful, but I felt the dignified strength and thick core of all the characters in this work, and I wrote the song as it is.
The word "10 years" appears in the lyrics, and I was able to look back on the past 10 years, and this work made me think that in the next 10 years, I will continue to burn my own personality and small dreams without changing like Shinya and Yuhana.
I sang this song "Filament" with the thought that even if I feel disconnected in the midst of suffering and sorrow, I would like to keep a small light on forever.
I hope this song will resonate with your hearts along with this work, which makes you feel the warmth of people, that you can be strong by thinking of someone else, and the strength and courage to hold on to your dreams and hopes.
Thank you very much for allowing me to sing the theme song.
