Cyborg 009" is a stage adaptation of the popular science fiction manga "Cyborg 009" by Shotaro Ishinomori. The first stage "Cyborg 009" was staged in May 2024, and now the second stage "Cyborg 009 -The 13th Chaser-" will be staged at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in November. Hiroki Nanami, who plays 009/Shimamura Joe, Masamichi Satonaka, who plays 004/Albert Heinrich, and Dai Goto, who plays 0013 and will appear in this production, discussed their impressions of each other and the appeal of "Cyborg 009".

Company with a sense of youth like club activities.

─ You, Nanami and Satonaka, continue to appear in the previous work "Cyborg 009".

Nanami: I really enjoyed working with the wonderful cast and crew. From the production announcement to the rehearsals and the performance, I really enjoyed the whole process. It was like a club activity, like a fulfilling "youth" time.

Satonaka I understand. Teamwork is very good.

Nanami: All that fun and teamwork went on stage, and it was a lot of fun.

─ ─ What exactly was it that you found so enjoyable?

Nanami The main cast and all the BG SOLDIERS are all something .......

Satonaka: You are fine, aren't you?

Nanami Yes, yes.

Satonaka: The group was made up of people with powerful talents, and since it was a heroic story, I felt that there was a lot of energy in the group.

Nanami: Each one of them has vitality as a performer and as a human being, and their characters are well-defined. I think the energy they emitted was amazing. In some productions, the cast may be able to create a powerful effect with the same cast, but everyone in this cast felt that "individuality is important. It was nice to see how well we all felt the same way.

Goto: When I went to see the last show, I greeted the audience after the show and said, "What a great group of people!" I said, "What a great group of people! (Laughs). At that time, it had not yet been decided that I would be in this film, but I said, "I want to do it, too.

───So, how did you feel about actually being cast in the play "Cyborg 009 - The 13th Chaser"?

Goto: When I saw the previous film, the weight of "Cyborg 009" from the music, lighting, and everything else stayed with me from beginning to end. Last time, the two actors who played 0010 were the enemies, and I remember being very moved by the emotional ending, so when I was offered the chance to play the role, I immediately said "by all means.

"Why are you so flawless?" How did your parents raise you?"

─ Since all three of you have gathered here, please tell us your impressions of each other as actors and what you find attractive about each other. First of all, let's talk about Nanami-san.

Satonaka: The previous film was the first time we acted together, but he worked out as hard as the other male cast members and created action scenes and plays. Seeing her back, I thought she was really cool. I felt his greatness right in front of my eyes. I really appreciated the way he was leading everyone. I am really looking forward to this show.

Nanami: I was praised!

Goto: This is the third time I have worked with Nanami-san, having worked with her in "Theater Draft Grand Prix" and "blue egoist" at Toyo Imaginary World. Not only this time, but the pressure of playing the leading role must be great, and this time it is "Cyborg 009," a work that has been loved for a long time, so there is a great deal of pressure and it must definitely be more difficult than anyone else's, but you have taken care of each and every one of us. Every time I work with him, I think that he is a person who stands in the middle of his nature and performs his art. How can you be so flawless?" What kind of upbringing did your parents have?" And.

Nanami: Haha (laughs).

Goto: Besides, I really love Nanami's singing. Nanami's inner beauty comes through straight away. I feel as if I have been punched in the face. I really respect her a lot.

Nanami: I'm so happy. Thank you both. I could go home today now (laughs).

─ ─ No, no, please don't leave yet (laughs). Nanami-san, please tell us your impressions of the two of them and what attracted you to them. First of all, let's talk about Ms. Satonaka.

Nanami: He has a great personality. He is very cool and dependable in the sense that he is always watching those around him, and although he doesn't say much, he shows by his actions that he is "silent. That is similar to the role I played this time.

Satonaka Thank you.

Nanami: He is very agile and I am looking forward to seeing him evolve again.

Goto: I have known Masa (Satonaka) for a long time. We know each other in many ways, so we can talk for about five hours now (laughs). (Laughs.) He is so pure, straightforward, and honest. When we are acting together, there is no lie in our eyes. There is no hesitation in his eyes. But on the other hand, he also has a very sensitive side. At first glance, he seems cool and unconcerned, but when he is alone, he is very thoughtful. I think he is a good actor including his sensitive side.

Nanami: You are very kind.

─ Then, Nanami, please tell us what attracts you to Goto-san from Satonaka-san's point of view.

Nanami The first time we worked together was in the "Theater Draft Grand Prix. What impressed me the most at that time was that he memorized his lines first. When I asked him about it, he told me that he was the type of person who memorizes lines from the first rehearsal. It was the same with "blue egoist," which I worked with him on next. That is a shadow effort, isn't it? I thought it was wonderful that he could take such things for granted.

Goto: I'm glad.

Nanami Also, I think he is a warm person who takes people seriously. He is easy to communicate with and very fun to work with. Blue Egoist" was a character that I was close to, so I was able to think about many things with him and we had fun together every day.

Goto: I am very happy.

Nanami: I don't know yet because I haven't received the script yet (the interview was conducted in early September), but I'm looking forward to the play because it seems that I will be deeply involved in the role this time around, so I feel like I can take my time with the play. Dai said earlier that Satonaka "has no lies," and I think that is true for both of us.

Satonaka: I'm the same with Oh-chan, I can talk about him for hours (laughs). In "Hypnosis Mike -Division Rap Battle-" Rule the Stage, I was not so deeply involved in the role, so the first time I had a full conversation with Oh-chan on stage was in "Kobukuro JUKE BOX reading musical " FAMILY". FAMILY". As Nanami-san said, he is an actor who can catch the audience with his words. His words stick with me, and he is flexible not only in acting but also in dancing and singing, so I can see his side of him. I also know his private life, and I am inspired and attracted to him in his private life because he is different from me. I never thought we would be able to work together on "Cyborg 009," so I am really looking forward to it. I don't know if we will be involved, but I hope so.

Goto: Yes, that's right.

Satonaka I am very much looking forward to seeing how Dai-chan will play 0013, and I hope we can all work together to create the best stage performance possible.

Goto: Sometimes it's a little difficult to start from the second film. But I don't feel that at all with "Cyborg 009. Everyone seems to be in a welcoming mood. I am really looking forward to it.

To convey the human drama depicted in "Cyborg 009

─ ─ How do you feel about the appeal of "Cyborg 009" itself, including the original work?

Nanami: Although everyone in "Cyborg 009" is a cyborg, I think it is a very human drama. Human love, suffering, and sadness are made easier to understand by the presence of enemy characters. So I think the most fascinating part of the film is the human drama.

─ ─ How do you hope to express this charm on stage?

Nanami: I feel that I got a good grasp of how to play the role of Joe Shimamura in the first performance, so this time I would like to work with everyone again with a renewed spirit. The other day, I met everyone for the first time in a long time at the advance trial production announcement, and I felt that everyone was present in their roles just by standing there in these costumes. I felt that I could just leave the rest to Mr. Go (Go Ueki, who directs), Mr. Kameda (Shinjiro Kameda, who writes the script), and the rest of the staff, and leave myself to them.

Satonaka As Nanami said, I feel that "the human heart is important" from each and every one of them. I have already studied the role of Albert Heinrich before the first performance, so I have my own idea of the character, but I hope to face the role anew and incorporate more humanity into it.

Goto: When I saw the original work and the manga, I also felt the pain and hope that people feel when they see it because it is a cyborg. But at the same time, I also felt the sadness, or rather, the romanticism of the sadness, and the beauty in it. I thought it was beautifully portrayed on stage. I would like to see it performed overseas and see how people overseas react to it. I thought it was a Japanese work that we should be proud of, and I am happy to be a part of it.

─ I heard that you haven't started training yet, but how do you want to play the role of 0013?

Goto: I would like to think about the reasons why I was chosen to play 0013. Also, 0013 is a character with few words, so I may not have many lines, but I would like to find various new ways to express myself as an actor.

Satonaka: I think 0013 played by Dai-chan is going to be wonderful. 0013 also has a kind heart, so I think we will be linked in that way.

Goto: I'm glad.

─ ─ How do you, Nanami and Satonaka, want to play the role based on your previous work?

Nanami: The previous work depicted us ...... especially me, changing from unwanted modifications to the feeling of "I'm going to fight for peace," but this time it starts from the point where I already feel like fighting, so I guess that will change. I think that is going to change.

Satonaka: There is definitely a passage of time. Because of that, I hope to show more of the teamwork of the cyborgs and the relationship between 009 and each individual.

─ Lastly, the production of this work is also attractive because of Mr. Go Ueki's direction.

Nanami: Go Nanami's stage productions make full use of the latest technology, but there are also parts where he says, "Surprisingly, I'm going to use what we have here. The cast and BG also use all of their physical abilities. I think the charm of Mr. Go's direction lies in the way he multiplies the latest technology with the power of human beings, and I will do my best to keep up with him.
